 underfloor heating

Underfloor heating is one of the most energy efficient ways of heating any type of building.  It is ideally suited for use with low energy efficient heat sources such as ground source heat pumps.  Underfloor heating is quick and easy to install, is low maintenance and provides even warmth and comfort in the home or office. Warm water underfloor heating or wet underfloor heating from IHS is integrated within the floor make-up.  The temperature of each room can be individually controlled by roomstat.

ground, air, water source heat pumps

Heat pumps (sometimes called geothermal heat pumps), take energy from the ground, air or water to provide heating and hot water for all building types.  No additional electric immerser is required

IHS supply ground, air and water source heat pumps which integrate perfectly with our underfloor heating systems but can also be incorporated with existing heating systems.  They also provide complete domestic hot water requirements.  Heat pumps are a great combination with underfloor heating as the low temperatures required by one and generated by the other fully complement each other.

 domestic hot water tanks
sdcs

The Hygienik hot water tank from IHS is both a thermal store and buffer tank.  It is heated by the ground source heat pump and provides both domestic heating and hot water.

The Hygienik Tank lies at the heart of every renewable energy system we design and supply – it’s extremely versatile as it’s onto it that a huge range of other heat sources and emitters such as underfloor heating, ground source heat pumps, solar panels can be added.

 solar systems

IHS now offer a broad range of solar panels and systems from TiSUN and IDM in Austria.  TiSUN's range includes solar hot water and heating sets, solar stratified tanks, solar module collectors and a wide choice of control units and accessories.

All our solar products integrate fully with our underfloor heating systems, ground source heat pumps and heating and cooling systems.  They can also integrate very well with biomass, wood burning stoves and oil and gas boilers.

 road energy systems

Road Energy uses the heat absorption capacity of black tarmac on roads, carparks and airport runways to heat and cool all types of buildings.  Some of our customers have even used Road Energy in their tennis courts to heat their swimming pools!  Hot and cold water stored underground is circulated in a network of pipe under the tarmac surface and called up as required to heat or cool a building.

Other benefits include frost and ice free roads and airport runways.  The Road Energy System can also be connected with heat pumps and underfloor heating systems for heating and cooling.

 wood energy solutions

These wood pellet stoves can be integrated with Hygienik hot water tank and heat pump to supplement your heating and hot water requirements.

All stoves include pump, mixing valve and expansion vessel, and range in output from 5kW - 23kW.  Suitable for installation indoors, or utility room/garage.

  training and consultancy services

IHS has identified a significant skills gap in the market - particularly in the area of ground source heat pump installation. We've set up a series of one day training seminars which can be individually tailored to train members of the trade in underfloor heating, heat pumps, domestic water and solar systems.

We also offer consultancy services in thermal imaging and energy investigation and reporting.

integrated systems from invisible heating

We've been living with our own systems for a while now - our offices are heated by a combination of working systems.  For starters, there's underfloor heating throughout.  This is served by an open well heat pump (when the driller came in, we hit water at a depth of about 30 metres); this is supplemented by some solar panels on the roof which deliver surprisingly high temperatures even in the winter months.  This is also linked in to the Road Energy System in our carpark so if the water in our well ever dries up, the system switches over and our office is heated by our carpark! If you'd like to meet us, we'd be delighted to welcome you here to Ullapool. Contact us to make an appointment.

Invisible Heating Systems was one of the first companies to introduce underfloor heating to the UK market and we were one of the first to build on this - by integrating a range of micro renewable technologies to deliver complete, year-round heating and cooling solutions to our customers.

We deliver a total system package including underfloor and wall heating and cooling, a range of heat pumps including ground source heat pumps, water source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, solar panels, domestic water systems and Road Energy Systems. We can incorporate all these with wind turbines, oil and gas boilers and multifuel stoves into all types of buildings, both old and new.  By linking the heat source with heat emitters, taking insulation levels, construction techniques and materials into account and using our own design methodology and in-house knowledge we can ensure quality system performance .

Remember - Always maximise your building's energy efficiency before choosing a renewable system!
