company profileIHS was formed in 1995 by Henk Verweijmeren and Liz Stewart who'd been working in the industry for many years in Holland. They started by introducing a well-established underfloor heating system to the UK market and soon developed a branded product with specially designed pipe and manifolds tailored to meet local requirements.Henk and Liz took the decision to base themselves in Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands. Despite the obvious challenges of setting up a business in a remote location (and with the help of Broadband!), they've built up a thriving local business that employs nearly thirty staff, has a second office in Staffordshire, supplies throughout the UK and Europe and is renowned in the trade for setting high standards and being at the technical forefront of the industry offering innovative and quality solutions. We're about to embark on a construction project to build quality, affordable zero carbon accommodation for our staff here in Ullapool. The village is desperately short of quality housing and we want to show how it's possible to build quality, eco-friendly accommodation that doesn't cost the earth - in every sense of the word. |
