River Collector, Highland Holiday Cottages River Collector Solar Thermal

These are two disabled-access larch-clad holiday cottages set in an ancient crofting community on the Isle of Lewis in Scotlands north-west highlands.   Set on a stream bank on the edge of wild moorland, these cottages are an ideal location for wildlife and nature lovers.  They have their own private decked area from which guests can enjoy the sun setting over the Atlantic ocean.

Heating and Hot Water
A single 10kW HGL heat pump heats both properties.  The heat source is a river which runs close by.

There’s underfloor heating throughout.  During the summer months, hot water is supplied by solar panels integrated into the 500 litre Hygienik Tank.
