does every room have a room stat or sensor? All main rooms have controls - an adjustable room stat or sensor that controls the thermal actuator on the manifold. This allows hot water heating to the desired room and can also switch on the pump and boiler as required. All controls have setback as a standard feature (if the temperature drops below a certain point outside the timed period, the system will switch back on and bring the room up to required temperature).what happens if the pipes get damaged?During system installation, when wooden floors are being installed or when the pipes are exposed, the pipes are vulnerable. Accidents do happen but don't worry – we can supply special pipe repair connectors. Refer to the Installation Manual for repair guidelines or contact us for further information. pipe layouts - do's and don'tsBathrooms - If you're installing underfloor heating pipe in the bathroom, generally avoid going under fixtures such as baths and shower trays. However, in the case of old or reproduction Victorian style baths, where there are no floor fixtures and the air can circulate underneath, it is advisable to install pipe underneath. Kitchens - Again, no need to install under fixtures and fittings; however, it is advisable to install under free-standing furniture eg butchers' blocks, tables. Glazing (eg floor to ceiling windows, French doors, patio doors) - pipe spacing should be decreased to 100 to 150mm spacings directly in front of glazed areas to compensate for excess cold fall in cooler months. what guarantees are in place? Both standard and HD pipes have a 50-year guarantee. Ensure you have a written insurance-backed guarantee for the first ten years.ALL IHS pipe has an oxygen diffusion barrier. All our designs carry heat loss calculations and design guarantees that are not subject to a time limit. Most UK companies do not have this - ask for a written copy of ours. |
