As a general rule, before the commencement of any work you should make absolutely sure with your local planning officer that you are permitted to commence works.   The UK government has made significant progress in the past number of months but more legislative changes are due within a relatively short time frame.  Planning permission for micro-renewables has been devolved to the Northern Irish, Welsh and Scottish administrations and changes are constantly afoot in these areas also.
