seminars for self-installers

If you're a self-builder who has bought or is in the process of purchasing one of our systems, we can organise training for you at our offices in Ullapool.

Seminars for self-installers cost £250 per day; refundable on purchase of a heat pump system.

Important note to self installers: a proper understanding of and training in our system is essential if you're going to carry out your own heat pump installation.  If you're going to install one of our systems yourself, you must attend a training seminar here.  Ideally, you'll be enlisting the help of your plumber in which case, your plumber should also attend a training seminar here. 

During this training, IHS reserve the right to determine whether you have the level of technical understanding necessary to install the system yourself.

Prior to getting your system connected up and commissioned by us, you must complete a checklist of items confirming you've carried out our instructions fully and accurately.  Using your own initiative is NOT recommended for heat pump installations!

If you've received training and an adequate level of ongoing support from us during the installation and require further, frequent assistance, your calls will be transferred to our Technical Help Line. Calls cost £1 per minute.

We don't have the time or resources to "hand-hold" every self-installer through a project - you really do need to be technically competent and trained to undertake your own installation.  Any cost savings you think you'll achieve at the outset will be quickly swallowed up in phone calls and visits from qualified professionals later on. 

We know this sounds tough but we've learned the hard way!
