Construction & Heating Glossary

This is an integral part of looking at the heating, cooling and supply of hot water to your home, office or any building.  You need to look at construction methodology, insulation levels, air-tightness, draught-proofing and water fittings in order to put a new heating system in context and ensure it delivers maximum value for money.

We'll take a look at various construction methods here, along with all the other features which form an integral part of any building.  We will strive to update you with any new findings we come across - if there's something you feel might be worth listing, please let us know - we're all on a learning curve!

We've recently become Non-Developer Members of the Good Homes Alliance, a group of housing developers, building professionals and sustainability experts whose aim is to build and promote sustainable homes and communities and to transform the whole of mainstream UK house building into a sustainable endeavour.

Developer Members have committed to the GHA Code and Charter, with over 50% of their buildings currently required to meet these high standards.  As Non-Developer members, we've signed up to the GHA Charter.
